This photo is truly important to me for two reasons. First, it’s the first one in my “Wait” series, part of of a project I’ll soon write more about on Monochrome.blog, more importantly, though, it’s the one that has made me reconsider the entire idea of Monochrome multiple times.

Why?

Because it was taken with a color camera (Fuji X-Pro3 if you must know), and I like it so much in color that not showing it like that symbolizes my will to focus on black and white. It makes me often think of this quote from Jony Ive about focus:

“What focus means is saying ‘no’ to something that you believe with every bone in your body is a phenomenal idea. You wake up thinking about it, but you say ‘no’ to it because you’re focusing on something else.”
